Kate - An Ellicott City Senior Session

I absolutely loved my time with Kate and her mom. They both were sweet and willing to go with anything I suggested (this included laying in a grasshopper-filled field and wading through a stream and stepping on slippery rocks, among other things). Kate is a senior at Mount Hebron High - I have loved ALL my Hebron girls!! She is a talented artist and pianist, and - a girl after my own heart - she loves photography, too. She is also involved with her high school productions as a costume, hair, and make up artist.

Kate pretended that she was shy at first, but all I had to do was give her was a few simple directions - "Put your hand like this," or "Look over your shoulder" and she would totally work it. It was immediately natural for her to be in front of the camera. I could have photographed her all day long - I would be one nanosecond away from giving her another direction, when she would just do it on her own. We just clicked! She read my mind and I was blown away.

The night was perfect, the sunset pristine. But even so, my favorite moment of the session was at the very end. "Can we get one more shot?" Kate asked. "I want one with my mom."

This made me so happy! It of course melted my heart, as a mother, to know that having her own mom there with her meant a lot to her. So special!
