Kristen + Matt: An Overhills Mansion Wedding

Kristen and Matt's wedding day was just as beautiful as I knew it would be. From meeting up with them for their engagement session, I knew they were the kind of people who had genuine friends and family they truly loved and cared for. They spoke of them with so much concern, and made sure I knew how important they all were to both of them. I knew their wedding day would be one full of laughter and joy from everyone in attendance.

Every element of their day led to the same conclusion: Kristen and Matt were meant to be together, and everyone around them supported their decision to join their lives! I loved meeting all of Kristen's bridesmaids and learning about all the gorgeous DIY details (Kristen made her own bouquet!! It's incredible! She even put feathers in it!). It was all in the little moments: Kristen's mom tearing up as she put on her boutonniere. Kristen's father embracing Matt, as if he were his own son. The laughter when the GROOM'S phone went off during the ceremony (so classic!). The tears on Matt's face as he danced with his sister. The circle everyone formed around the bride and groom as they danced the last song of the evening.

But of course, my favorite moment during their wedding day was seeing Kristen walk through that doorway leading to her husband, who stood waiting for her at the end of the aisle. It all lead up to that moment. All the details, the planning, the money, the worry. It was all for this one moment. The moment Kristen and Matt agreed, before a hundred witnesses who loved them, that they would only love each other for the rest of their lives. I don't think I'll ever get over the beauty of this promise!

I worked with a wonderful second shooter for the first time ever and it was such a relief to have her there and am so grateful to have such a wonderful friend in this competitive industry. Please go check out her work!
